One of Kersey's current elected board members is moving out of Town thereby creating a vacancy on the Town Board. The Town Board is allowed by law to appoint a replacement to serve the remainder of the vacated term. Some of the qualifications include residency within the incorporated areas of Town for the last twelve months and being a registered elector within Town.
The selected appointee will serve the remainder of a term ending in April 2020. The Town Board meets every other Tuesday throughout the year. The second Tuesday is a regular meeting (voting) beginning at 7pm and the fourth Tuesday is a work session (non-voting) beginning at 6pm. There are also additional advisory boards, community functions, and other events which board members often attend.
Interested persons should write a letter to the Town Board expressing their interest in being appointed. This letter can be mailed or dropped off at the Town Hall. The Town Board may then request an interview(s) with interested persons. If selected, an official appointment will occur at a regular meeting. The Town Board reserves the right not to make a selection.
All letters of interest are due no later than November 23rd at 4pm!
